Book Review – “The Gruffalo” by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

The story of a smart little mouse, who to scare off predators met on her stroll through the woods, claims to be meeting there and then with a terrifying, imaginary creature. But how does the mouse get away when its path crosses that no longer imaginary creature?

The book that made Julia Donaldson famous worldwide with her talent for rhymes and great storylines. It is simply a fun read with a beautiful music to its rhyme.
Axel Scheffler’s illustrations are at their best. Colourful and fun.

We got it with the audio CD. The story is read by Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies) who gives a great voice to the little mouse.
We thoroughly enjoy every read. So much so that my 6 years old knows it almost all by heart!
If you are not familiar with Julia Donaldson’s literature, THIS is where you should start.
